Crippled Light Waves, a music distribution site and record label based in Los Angeles, has agreed to help distribute both Jane Bowles and La Bronke's Figurehead tape and Mir's Contrails cdr release. All tracks are available for download, as well as a whole list of other music offerings, things that you have not heard, but that you definitely want to hear. Thanks Andrew. It was a great pleasure to be able to have a peak into Barcelona's marginal, but thriving experimental music scene and to see different takes on transcontinental ideas. While Barcelona primarily seems to be dominated by popular music and big venues, there are a number of admirable friends |

In the past two months we have been putting together the first Sociotree releases, both limited editions, and have just finally finished them up. Jane Bowles and La Bronke's Figure Head debut release is an edition of 30 tapes, with a DIY design and cover images ranging from construction to demolition derbies. Second in line has been Mir's album Contrails in an edition of 80 cd/rs. Though there should probably be a small booklet of different album designs that Contrails has had, the final design has been decided on, and this is the "official" release. If you want to take a look at the design of either release, they are both in the audio section. Each of these goes for $5 and can be shipped via mail. Just send an email and ask. Of course, if you are one of those digital types that doesn't want another tape or cd/r floating around, some of the tracks are available for download in the audio section as well. There is a new track up by Zomgurl Octim called h999 emitting droney rhythms and sinusoidal projections, and a two part dubstep mix by Daizo in the podcast player. |

| Boehm Tradecenter is currently hosting an online exhibition screening Dream Video, which those of you who visit most likely have already seen. However, I recommend checking out the other artists' work in the exhibition including: Francis Lam, Nina Katchadourian, Tiffany Sum, Warren Sack and Sawad Brooks. Thanks to curator Yuka Yokoyama for putting the show together. | ||
| 4/14/08 | Mir will be setting out on another weekend tour either the third or fourth weekend in May. Whoever can help out with venues in the northeast U.S. would be highly appreciated. Also, if anyone would want to join in on the tour, it would be great to have a companion. There will be a number of releases in different mediums coming in the next months, hopefully before the move out of New Brunswick. Yes, the time has come to leave this city, it has given all that it can. But there are a number of projects that will act as a summary of all that has taken place here. Here are some: |

| 3/17/08 | Magic Afternoon/Mirror Faced Monster has been uploaded into the player. It is a mix of instrumental tracks, save a few reverberating bumbles every now and then. From syncopated psychedelics to seamless simultaneity, these are ups and downs compiled into 41 minutes. Also, we have recently stumbled across some old recordings of Jane Bowles & La Bronke in collaboration with Mir. From 2006, these recordings are improvised jams that have been revisited and edited. In addition to this, Mir has also contributed 4 new unreleased tracks from 2006, you can call them the B-sides of Contrails. Both of these sets could be found in the audio section of the site. Remember, to download just right click and save as. People are having trouble with Mike Bruno's tracks, which are zip files that must be downloaded and extracted onto your computer before you can listen to them. Show on March 29th: |

| 2/25/08 | New to Sociotree is Jane Bowles & La Bronke's podcast of his tracks. It is called a podcast because they have all been streamlined into one 20 minute file, without track markers. This was an experiment mash-up of house, noise, and pretty sound influences, if you can imagine. But you don't have to imagine because you can listen. Upcoming next week: |

| 1/29/08 | Thinking that it would balance things to have a more song oriented artist on the site, I asked Mike Bruno a few weeks ago if he would like to put up some of his tracks . Shortly after I received a couple of cdrs dressed in a black cover. I took them home for a listen knowing that I was in for something good, and it was just that and more. Not only did it include the normal charming incantations that Mike is known for, but also tracks that go bang, pshhtt, and bmmmm at 10 bpms underwater. Something I think we all can identify with. Listen if you are a fan of harmony. |

| 1/14/08 | Parent_M will be a guest on local dj Daizo's radio show, Depth, on The Core 90.3FM, available to listeners in and around New Brunswick, NJ (also available as a webstream). The show is from 12am to 2am tonight, and will consist of electronic timbres ranging from Daizo's dubstep mixes to Parent_M's minimal/micro and techno tracks. Tune in. | |
| 1/01/08 | The New Year's Eve show turned out to be a really amazing event, and the most enjoyable celebration of the holiday I have had yet. Though there were some issues with the ever-ready authorities, we ended up making it to the end of the night without any problems. It was a good way to start the year. Thanks to the people who made it work and to the touring bands. As always, there are pictures. Therefore, we will celebrate this new beginning by greeting two new podcasts in the player, and by saying farewell to the old ones that gave us many hours of listening pleasure in the year of 2007. Dave Roque's long awaited mix, lost in a data mine for quiet some time, resurfaces with the relevant title 2 years spent will be up by the end of the week. Also, Dave Sutton's new Burnt out mix is a set of somber tones for technicolor dreams. There are some upcoming shows for Mir in the next week or two. Here is the list: |

| 12/17/07 | On the spur of the moment last night we decided that this site needs more pictures/drawings and stuff so we put some of Earthboy's collages in the gallery section. So now they are up and there is a new adjunct to the old gallery. The images are roll-over so that you can see the front and back. Have fun.
